Who is Heather?

Heather O’Neill has worn so many hats in the field of journalism that even the Queen Mother would envy her collection.
Before founding Eco to the People, Heather worked as the managing editor of a beauty trade magazine; as a copy editor for an online tech magazine; as the associate editor of a city magazine and as a newspaper reporter and columnist.
Currently Heather serves as the managing editor of ecomii’s Simple Living blog. Her work on green topics has been published on ecomii, Yahoo! Green, Crazy Sexy Life and ecofabulous.
Heather’s print work has appeared in publications including Parenting, Alternative Medicine, Natural Solutions, Marin Magazine, Greenwich Magazine and HOME. Several of her articles and columns have won top journalism prizes and her investigative series “Invisible Men” (The Advocate, 2006) was a finalist for the Society of Professional Journalist’s esteemed Theodore Driscoll Award.
Heather earned a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from California College of the Arts. She lives and works in San Francisco.
