Lash-tastic

As I have mentioned in past posts, I have been a little bit obsessed with finding an amazing eco-friendly mascara. I have tried a ton of them and, man alive, have I kissed some frogs in the process. But I think I have found the one!

Jane Iredale’s Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara is FABULOUS. And I’ll admit, I was dubious.

I first purchased the PureLash Lengthening Mascara and wasn’t terribly impressed. I went in to Pure Beauty asking for a natural looking mascara that would make my eyelashes pop without making me look like Tammy Faye Bakker. It was natural looking, for sure, but didn’t really do it for me in the lengthening department.

Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara is a whole different story. I picked up Black Ice, the darkest shade, and I love it. The extra-large tapered brush gives my lashes volume and the innovative squeeze tube will allow me to get every last wand-full of mascara out of the tube. (The design also eliminates the need to “pump” the wand to collect mascara, which keeps the product from drying out.)

Another interesting feature — don’t freak out now — is that Jane Iredale has replaced the normal water content in the mascara recipe with algae extract to condition your lashes. Who knew?

All that in a mascara with no chemical dyes, preservatives or perfumes, that comes in a recyclable tube? Yes, please.
