Dear Stella,
We knew when you partnered with the Gucci Group, purveyor of famous luxury leather goods, that you—as a lifelong vegetarian—would find a way to stay true to your roots. You don’t use leather or fur in any of your collections, but we especially love your new organic line, made from sustainable materials like hemp burlap.
With the Stella McCartney Green and Organic Collections, you’ve found a way to be eco all on your own. You’re using the great resources available to you in a revolutionary way, like you’ve always known it would be possible to do good work from within the patriarchy, so to speak.
Your fashion business is also committed to conserving resources during manufacturing by using techniques such as wind power and maintaining a carbon neutral status. There are even elements of your skincare and Adidas lines which are organic. You’ve given us a reason to applaud. We can’t wait to see what’s next.
Sincerely,
The Editors
